Jaipur, July 6, 2026: A woman has been booked by Jaipur Police after she was allegedly caught on CCTV entering a neighbour’s house, attempting to steal jewellery, and later threatening the homeowner when confronted. The incident, which took place in the city’s Muhana area, has drawn widespread attention after videos of the confrontation surfaced on social media.

According to police, the homeowner had recently installed CCTV cameras after reporting an earlier theft of cash and jewellery from the residence. On the day of the incident, while away from home with his family, he reportedly checked the live CCTV feed on his mobile phone and noticed a woman entering the house and searching through cupboards in the bedroom.
Police said the homeowner immediately alerted a neighbour and asked him to lock the main gate from outside before rushing back. The woman allegedly became trapped inside the house after the gate was locked. When confronted by the homeowner and the neighbour, she allegedly threatened to remove or tear her clothes and accuse them of misconduct in an apparent attempt to avoid being detained. The confrontation was also recorded on video.
Investigators said the CCTV footage showed the woman opening cupboards and examining a jewellery box before allegedly taking valuables. Based on the complaint and the video evidence, police reached the scene, took the woman into custody, and registered a case for alleged house trespass and attempted theft.
Officials stated that the investigation is ongoing and that the recovered CCTV footage will form a key part of the evidence. Police are also examining whether the woman had any involvement in the earlier theft reported by the homeowner.
The incident has sparked discussion on social media about the growing use of home surveillance systems in solving property-related crimes. Police have advised residents to strengthen home security measures and promptly report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
Authorities emphasized that the allegations are under investigation and that further legal action will be taken based on the evidence collected during the probe.
